Lynn has said she is very pleased to gain the award but says quay is a team and I accept the award for our team that works so hard to enable candidates to achieve awards.

Skills Pledge 1 Year On
Britain can only succeed in a rapidly changing world if we develop the skills of our people to the fullest possible extent, carry out world class research and scholarship, and apply both knowledge and skills to create an innovative and competitive economy.

Since the Skills Pledge was launched by Gordon Brown on 14 June 2007 hundreds more organisations covering nearly 4 million employees throughout England have made the Skills Pledge. This is tremendous progress and clearly we want to maintain that momentum. The Skills Pledge is a voluntary public commitment to employees and the wider community that an organization is committed to training and development.

The Skills Pledge can be made by any organization, regardless of size or sector. Those organisations that have made it see it as way to galvanize their business and signal a change in their approach. Making such a public commitment also helps employers recruit and retain employees, as well as supporting productivity, quality and competitiveness. The Government is committed to supporting employers who invest in training their employees.
