What is train to gain ?
“Train to Gain is a new service to help businesses across England get the training they need to succeed and stay successful.
Train to Gain Funding offers:
- Skills for Life, NVQ Level 2 and there is provision available for ‘Level 3 jumpers’
- Wage compensation for SMEs who employ between 1-49 employees
- Help to arrange the sourcing of training and ensure that training is provided to suit the needs of the employer and learner
- Information and advice for employers and learners including their skills needs
- Learners must be 19+ at start date of training
- All learners must be in full or part time paid employment (contract)
- Learners must not already hold a NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent
- Learners must not currently be on a publicly funded programme
- Learners must have been an EU resident for the last three years
- Less than 5000 employees
- Must be prepared to grant employees paid time to train during working hours
- Can identify employees with training needs who do not have any Level qualifications or equivalent
To provide opportunities for low skilled women to train towards work related Level 3 qualifications and thus improve social and economic mobility and contribute more local and national productivity.
Eligibility Criteria for Employees and Employers
- Learner must be a woman
- Learners must be an employee i.e. possesses a contract of employment with anemployer. (no volunteers)
- Women currently under-represented within the workforce or described as returners to the labour market, as defined by the legislation.
- Learners with any level of previous qualification are entitled to L3 funding.
- Learners must have resided within the EU for 3 years
- Learners must be over 19 years old
- Must be able to complete a Level 3
Train to Gain is the future of the way government funding will go
